Join Rimrose Valley Friends, led by the Amazing local Ranger Eugene, for a stroll on Rimrose Valley.
Starting at the Derwent Road Entrance, Crosby L23 0SX
on Sunday, 25th February, 2018 starting at 10.30am
(If it’s raining at the time of the event it may be cancelled. if so there will be someone at the meeting point to turn people away.)
Head Ranger Eugene will be leading us through the Fulwood Wetlands area of the Valley, talking about managing the wetlands, the flora and the fauna of the area. It promises to be a fascinating morning and gives the opportunity to meet like-minded people.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the day.
We have 25 spaces available on a first come first served basis.
The event is free of charge, however donations are optional but will be most welcomed. All donations received will go to helping Rimrose Valley Friends to cover the costs of building and running our organisation. If you wish to do so, you can donate on the day by passing it to one of the Rimrose Valley Friends organisers, or by clicking here to donate online via Local Giving. If you’d rather not donate at this time please don’t let that put you off attending, as your support by showing up to our events is part of how you can help us to build the momentum to protect our cherished park.
The duration will be approximately 2 hours, but it may go on longer than that if there’s enough discussion and things to see to warrant it. You’re free to leave if time is getting on and you have to get off.
Do I need to print-out a ticket and bring it with me?
No. You don’t need to print out a ticket, save paper! We will have a list with us to check numbers on the day.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Make your own way. The Beach Road entrance is at the top of Beach Road by the Blue Gate. You can walk to the event but street parking is available if you’re driving. Please park responsibly.
Will it finish on time?
The duration will be approximately 2 hours, but it may go on longer than that if there’s enough discussion and things to see to warrant it. You’re free to lea ve if time is getting on and you have to make a move
What should I wear?
It’s up to you. We suggest you take a view based on the weather on the day. It can get chilly if there’s a breeze and you will be walking through long grass, so you may wish to wear wellies.
Am I okay to take photos?
Please do! Also we want to encourage our supporters to join our public Rimrose Valley Friends Facebook group and share their photos online. Click here to join our public Facebook group.
Can I bring my dog?
We love dogs but whether you can bring one will depend on your dog really. If you do, you’ll need to keep him/her on a lead throughout. We reserve the right to request your dog doesn’t remain with us, so to avoid any embarrassment if you’re unsure you should leave him or her behind.
